Encounter Tours (Aprox. 2 Hrs)

Guided Walking Tour

  • Our tour guides will show you around are beautiful property to see animals such as our eurasian lynx, macaws, servals, eagle owls, and much more. The guided animal tour is a lot of fun and provides a wonderful education experience to guests of all ages. The preserve is on about seven acres, so please dress appropriately for Louisiana hot and humid weather. We do not currently offer concessions so we encourage guests to bring lunches, snacks, and water. We do not allow guests to walk around unattended, as our exhibits are designed for guide supervision.

Ambassador Encounters

  • The encounter section of the tour is loads of fun and allows guests to meet our exciting animal ambassadors. Visitors meet kangaroo joeys in our kangaroo yard, learn about different animal ambassadors, and hold a two-toed sloth. Each of our encounters requires guests to stay very calm and follow instruction. During our sloth encounters, sloths are placed on a pillow on our guest's lap. We do not allow anyone to hold sloths off of their pillow or perch.
