Encounter Tours (Approx. 2 Hrs)

Guided Walking Tour

Barn Hill Preserve tour guides will show you around our beautiful property to see animals such as our eurasian lynx, macaws, servals, eagle owls, and much more. The guided animal tour is a lot of fun and provides a wonderful education experience to guests of all ages. The preserve is on about seven acres, so please dress appropriately for Louisiana hot and humid weather. We do not currently offer concessions so we encourage guests to bring lunches, snacks, and water.

*We do not allow guests to walk around unattended, as our exhibits are designed for guide supervision.

Ambassador Encounters

  • The encounter portion of the tour allows guests to meet our exciting animal ambassadors up close. Each of our encounters requires guests to stay very calm and follow instruction. Guests have the opportunity to meet a variety of small reptiles, mammals, and even interact with a two-toed sloth.

*We do not allow anyone to hold sloths off of their perch.

Encounter tour animals may not always be available due to instances of medical treatment, behavior etc.**
